Short term course normally takes one or two years where as long term takes three to four years for completion. However, both these courses offer job placements in the same field. This can help you to have a firm portfolio for presenting to your employer when you search for a job. Similarly, you also have to pay attention to the advertising trends and packaging designs of all forms in order to be updated according to the current market.
